La localización histoquímica de forfatasas alcalina y ácida fue estudiada en las diferentes porciones del tubo digestivo del 'sábalo' (Prochilodus platensis). La actividad de fosfatasa alcalina en el esófago y los estómagos cardial y pilórico fue observada en la lámina propia y la submucosa; en los apéndices intestinales y el intestino la actividad fue muy intensa en el borde libre de las células absortivas. La reacción para fosfatasa ácida en el esófago y los estómagos cardial y pilórico fue débilmente positiva en la zona apical de las células cilíndricas; la actividad en los apéndices intestinales y el intestino fue más pronunciada en el borde libre y el citoplasma apical de la células absortivas. The histochemical localization of alkaline and acid phosphatases in the different portions of the digestive tube of the 'sábalo' (Prochilodus platensis), has been studied. The activity of alkaline phosphatase in the esophagus, cardiac and pyloric stomach was observed in the lamina propria and submucosa; in the intestinal appendices and intestine the activity was very intense in the brush border of the absorptive cells. The reaction for acid phosphatase in esophagus, cardiac and pyloric stomach was weakly positive in the apical zone of the cylindric cell; the activity in the intestinal appendices was more pronounced in the brush border and apical cytoplasm of the absorptive cells.
