La finalidad fue diagnosticar los potenciales factores que conllevan a formar resistencia de la Haematobia irritans a los insecticidas. Se recabó información sobre aspectos de manejo de los productos, técnicas de aplicación, frecuencias, momento de tratar y uso de fórmulas autorizadas o caseras, entre otros. Se hipotetiza que el análisis e interpretación de los resultados generaría importante información de extensión con vista a difundir pautas de control para evitar resistencia o al menos, prolongar la eficacia de aquellos productos que todavía funciona. Summary A survey was made on 125 cattle farms in the centre of the Province of Córdoba (Argentina), with the following production systems: breeding (22), fattening (34) and complete cycle (16). The objective was to diagnose the potential factors that lead to the forming of resistance in Haematobia irritans to insecticides. Information was gathered on product handling, application techniques, frequency and opportunity of treatment, and the use of approved or home-made products. The hypothesis is made that the analysis and interpretation of the results would generate important information in order to formulate treatment strategies in order to avoid resistance or at least, prolong the effect of those products with a degree of efficiency.
