Abstract: The main objective of this study was to assess the plasmatic parameters of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL- cholesterol, lactatecdehidrogenase (LDH), gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT), carcinoembrionic antigen (CEA), and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in Cebus apella treated with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH). Twelve monkeys, males, subadults (aged x: 30 months) with an average body weight of 2,800 kg were utilized. The DMH was injected subcutaneously at 25 mg/kg and continued once a week for 16 weeks. The plasmatic parameters were measured every 2,5 months during 20 months. The body weight was assessed once a week during the first 4 months and every 30 days until the end of the experience. The DMH treated animals showed an increase (p < 0,001) in the CEA plasmatic levels and HCG levels, were increased but figures were not significative. Changes in the plasmatic levels of total cholesterol, C-HDL, C-LDL, GGT and LDH were not observed. | ||
