<subfield code="a">Abstract: The studied individuals have been captured in the Coastiné River, which is the river defining the right margin of the middle Paraná, to the north of Santa Fe City. The whole number of individuals (N=584) has been grouped in classes pf fork lengh with 2 cm intervals. It has then been possible to appreciate a different distribution according to sexes, the males showing lower maximum frecuencies than the females, and conversely. The length-weight relationship (found by the method of minimum squares) showed the following values. As it can be seen, there is a difference in growth between both sexes, shown by the exponent n of the length-weight relationship. This is also shown by the coefficient of condition, obtained separately for sexes and for fork length, corroborating what was said above inthe sense that, a they grow, the females show the tendency to a progessive broadening. The determination of age, based on the study of scales and vertebrae, would show that, in the concentrations existing in the middle Parana River, females reach higher sizes and ages than the males in the same captures, revealing a different integration of these according to sexes.</subfield>
