N2  - Resumen:  La neurología en rumiantes ha adquirido importancia en los últimos años a causa de las encefalopatías espongiformes transmisibles (EET). Por tal motivo el objetivo de este artículo es describir una metodología exploratoria neurológica en rumiantes. Las técnicas son específicas para rumiantes a causa de la dificultad y seguridad para el clínico. El diagnóstico neurológico se fundamenta en los datos obtenidos por anamnesis, inspección y localización neuroanatómica de la lesión mediante el examen físico y neurológico minuciosos. Ningún tratamiento debe instaurarse sin conocimiento de la localización neuroanatómica de las lesiones.   Abstract:  Neurology in ruminants has become increasingly important in recent years due to the presence of bovine transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), for that reason the object of this article is to describe the methodology for the neurological examination of ruminants. The exploration techniques are specific for ruminants due to the degree of difficulty and safety they involve for the clinician. The neurological diagnosis is based on the historical information, symptomatology and the identification of the neuroanatomic loalization of any lesion by a careful physical and neurological examination. No treatment may be applied without first identifying the location of the lesion
