Applying Huxley equation to different components of genital tract, maximum uterine relative growth rate was achieved when live weight ranged 15 - 20 kg. Likewise, duplication of uterine weight at 120 and 330 days of age coincided with a high degree of folicular differentiation and appearance of the first corpus luteum, respectively. This latter event was also associated to a significant increase in serum progestagens concentration. In conclusion, it seems likely that puberty in female capybaras is achieved when they are 10 to 12 months old. 4aHydrochoerus Hydrochaeris9122668 4aCapybara9125052 4aHembra964317 4aPubertad94314 4aReproducción98441 4aCrecimiento910886 4aMamiferos952125 4aSeparatas91209500 tRevista de la Facultad de Agronomía de la Universidad Central de Venezuelag(1993)w211473 cART a(AGROP)40275217209 c217209d217209 aAR-ReUNNbspacAR-ReUNNeaacr2
